Get Involved in 2013 !
Volunteers Needed/ Ideas Welcome
Every year we put up this message and every year it's still worth repeating. All Avon Valley members are both entitled to, and invited to, take an interest in the functioning of our Club. You can volunteer to become a member of any Committee convened by the Board of Directors, or volunteer to assist in various other ways as may be needed from time to time (tournaments/ other events/ projects). And even without becoming a volunteer, if you see something that could or should be done to improve the Club or the way things are done, please let us know!
If you are interested, want more information or have any suggestions to offer, please call, visit or send an e-mail to our General Manager, Brad Corkum at email@example.com, our President Bob Purcell at firstname.lastname@example.org or to any Director c/o email@example.com. Phone Brad directly at 902-798-4405 or leave a message for any Board member c/o the Office at (902)798-4654 and we'll be pleased to call you back.
Brad Corkum, our General Manager
Brad is a graduate of Dalhousie University with a major in Economics. He also attended and graduated with honours from West Kings District High School. Brad came to Avon Valley in 2009 directly from the position of Golf Course Manager at Eden Golf and Country Club. He is a Certified Teaching Professional and has completed courses through the Canadian Golf Management Institute, and has almost 20 years of managerial and business experience.
In addition to Eden he has served as Course Manager of Berwick Heights as well as being on the Boards of Greenwood, Paragon and Ken-Wo golf courses. He has held membership at Oakfield and Eagle Crest and with all this, has a well-rounded knowledge of our extended golf environment.
Brad has extensive teaching experience including co-ordinating and marketing very successful junior programs and clinics. Not a stranger to the area, Brad has enjoyed meeting and working to satisfy the golfing requirements of all our members and guests- and he looks forward to continuing to improve the viability and service capacity of the Club in this and coming seasons.
If you haven't done so, please stop by the Pro Shop and get to know him!
