Dress Code Guidelines

1. Introduction

To maintain the tradition and respect for the game of golf, Avon Valley enforces a dress code policy designed to provide a pleasant and respectful environment for all members and guests. Adherence to this policy is mandatory on the golf course, practice areas, and within the clubhouse. We appreciate your cooperation.

2. General Guidelines

  • All members and guests are required to wear appropriate golf attire at all times.
  • The dress code applies to men, women, and juniors.
  • Non-golf attire, such as swimwear is not permitted.
  • The policy is in effect from the time of arrival until departure from the facility.

3. Men’s Dress Code

  • Shirts: Shirts must have sleeves (short or long) and must be worn at all times. No sleeveless tops or tank tops allowed.
  • Pants/Shorts: Tailored pants or mid-thigh shorts. Jeans are permitted as long as they are clean cut. No cut-off shorts, sweatpants, or bathing suits.
  • Footwear: Soft spike golf shoes or running shoes are required. Metal spikes are prohibited. Golf sandals are welcome.

4. Women’s Dress Code

  • Shirts: Collared shirts, mock turtlenecks, golf tops with or without sleeves are allowed. Halter tops and crop tops are not permitted.
  • Pants/Shorts/Skirts: Tailored golf pants, capri pants, Bermuda shorts, or golf skirts/skorts are allowed. Shorts and skirts must be of an appropriate length, no short shorts. Jeans are permitted as long as they are clean cut.
  • Footwear: Soft spike golf shoes are required. Metal spikes are prohibited. Golf sandals are welcome.

5. Juniors’ Dress Code

  • Juniors are expected to adhere to the same dress code as adults, with appropriately sized clothing.

6. Clubhouse Dress Code

  • Casual yet respectful attire is required in the clubhouse, shirts must be worn at all times inside and on the deck.
  • Golf attire is acceptable.
  • Swimwear and excessively casual wear (e.g., ripped jeans) are not permitted.

7. Enforcement

  • The golf course staff and management have the authority to enforce the dress code policy.
  • Members are responsible for ensuring their guests adhere to the dress code.
  • Individuals not in compliance with the dress code will be asked to change into appropriate attire before using the facilities.

8. Exceptions

  • On rare occasions, the golf course management may grant exceptions for medical reasons or other special circumstances. Requests for exceptions should be directed to the management in advance.
